About Enchant Photography
I've been obsessed with photography since I was a teenager - but the thing that has always drawn me to this craft is the way it allows me to capture genuine human expression and emotion - the personalities of the people in the portraits themselves - and that is what keeps me coming back to this lifelong obsession.
There are portraits that look nice, then there are portraits that are elevated somehow - managing to capture the fire in someone's eye, the genuine connection and love and admiration between two people, the joy on a child's face when she feels the safety of her parent's presence - the essence of a soul.
It's this type of photography that has always drawn me, and has kept me coming back to photography throughout my life.
Photography is more than snapping a quick picture, the click of a button. Photography isn't always - but can be - art.
It can say something without words, mean something that you could not possibly explain or describe using words alone, it can capture more than just beauty - so much more.
When I am able to capture genuine emotion, an authentic moment, the expression on someone's face when they forget for a second that they are being photographed, and in that brief second just are - that's when I feel I've done my job.
Genuine Expression and Emotion in Natural & Urban Environments
I believe wholeheartedly that photographs taken in living spaces allows for a much more genuine, real experience and that surroundings that are alive provide the opportunity for more compelling photography.
Whether they be in nature - such as by the seaside, in a forest, or at the beach - or in urban areas like city centers, on park benches, a playground, or in and out of shops in towns - there's something about these real settings that I feel allows for the beauty in a soul to really shine.
From spotting the perfect enclave in a forest, to getting ice cream at the beach, to wandering around town, taking a photograph near whatever catches your eye - there's something so irreplaceable that is lost and just can't be replicated in a studio setting. That is why I choose to do all my photography on-location.
A Touch of Magic
One last thing I love to touch on in my photography are elements of fantasy, fairytales, magic, storybooks, romance, and even magic.
There is always room for a little enchantment in our lives... a little drama and mystery, a nod to the cinematic.
It's that little bit of magic, that enchantment and drama, nostalgia and dreaming, that I love to play with in my photography.
About the Photography Sessions
I do a range of different types of photography sessions, some of my most popular include:
- Family Photography & Child Portrait Photography
- Couples' Photoshoots & Engagement Shoots
- Portrait Photography, Headshot Photography, & Glamour Shoots
...as well as many more, which you can browse through for ideas here.
The vast majority of my shoots can also incorporate elements of different types of photography - such as headshots and glamour shots, family photography that features child portraits, or couples photographs that feature individual portraits. So these are absolutely not set in stone.
If you're interested in learning more about my custom photography sessions, have a peek at over here.
Or if you're looking for inspiration, create your own vision by looking through my portfolio, as well as some of my past photoshoots in a lookbook; that way you can let me know some of the types of imagery that strike your eye, and we can collaborate on ideas that are uniquely tailored to you.
